My passion is making sure first generation and urban youth thrive, survive, and graduate from college. Even when financial aid is not an issue, retention and graduation rates are dismal. “Unless we move with urgency, today’s young people will be the first generation in American history to be less educated than their predecessors.”
As a first generation college and law school graduate, I am intimately acquainted with that struggle. The struggle goes beyond academics and financial aid. My goal is to prepare college students, especially first generation students, to thrive in college and post graduation. The Matrix Navigation is different from other college success programs in that its application are life skills applicable beyond surviving college. It is about navigating your life and career goals.
